Scope of Practice: Estelle Skin Care and Spa Institute prepares students for Illinois esthetician licensure. Licensed estheticians provide skin care, facial, hair removal, and makeup services within the scope of practice defined by Illinois law (225 ILCS 410). Estheticians do not diagnose or treat medical conditions or perform medical procedures; estheticians working in medical settings do so under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider. Illinois does not issue a “medical esthetician” license.
